To use play as a pathway — helping young people build confidence, skills, and community.
The Ireland Esports Schools Series is designed to bring the excitement and opportunities of competitive gaming to secondary schools across Ireland. As the first esports initiative of its kind in the country, the Schools Series will offer students a chance to compete, develop valuable life skills, and connect with their peers in a structured, inclusive environment.
In the 2024/25 academic year, we are launching a pilot tournament to showcase the potential of the Schools Series. This pilot will serve as a foundation for a phased rollout in 2025/26, when we plan to expand the program to include even more schools and students from across the island of Ireland.
The Ireland Esports Schools Series was created to unlock the opportunities esports can bring to the classroom — from teamwork and communication to digital skills and career awareness. Drawing on over 30 years’ combined experience, including first-hand work with teachers and school leaders, we’ve built a format that’s safe, structured, and education-driven. Our goal is simple: give every student in Ireland a place to play, learn, and belong.
✅ Enhance their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
✅Develop teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.
✅Build confidence and resilience in a competitive environment.
✅Gain exposure to potential pathways into collegiate esports and professional opportunities.
Ireland Esports Leagues (IEL) is our independent platform that is building the competitive structure, telling the cultural story and growing the talent pipeline for Irish esports—from schools to society.
The Schools Series feeds directly into our Collegiate Series and Company Series.
Students who start here can go on to represent their universities — and eventually their companies — as part of a national pathway.
Community – Engaging schools and families in the esports conversation
Pathways – Supporting student growth from school to higher education and industry
Culture – Using games that students already love to inspire new kinds of learning
Innovation – Run on Nemesis and connected to wider digital skill initiatives
The Schools Series is delivered by Nativz Gaming, the team behind Ireland Esports Leagues, the Nemesis platform, and the Nativz Esports Club, whose Academy programme nurtures talent from the very competitions we run.
With 30+ years’ crossover experience in sport, gaming and digital media, Nativz helps companies, communities, brands, educators and creators make esports work for them — from team tournaments to consulting and activation strategy.
